Illustration MFA

Academy of Art University's Illustration MFA

Expanding the boundless imagination and skills of an illustrator

Illustration MFA
Three years into my MFA in Illustration with the Academy of Art University, I’m getting closer towards my thesis and am looking forward to graduation by (hopefully) the Fall of 2021.

Illustration MFA Journey
As time permits, I journal about my Illustration MFA experiences as well as share assignments and other academic works.

Midpoint Review
This summer 2020, I’ll be working through my Midpoint Review, a mandatory evaluatory process required for graduation.

Fall 2020
This coming fall, I’ll be taking two Illustration MFA courses: ILL 602 OL1: Concept, Technique and Illustration and ILL 704 OL1: Narrative Illustration Portfolio.

Illustration History: Charlotte Harding
This curated collection of illustrations by Charlotte Harding, and my corresponding personal essay, were for an art history course assigned during my Illustration MFA.

My MFA Illustration Decision
The decision to attend art school was, for me, more than 30 years in the making. And since it’s never too late to pursue a lifelong dream, I finally decided it was just well beyond time to jump right in.
